Another Year

Filed under: General — Andy @ 9:00 am

As per tradition, it’s Christmas again, and another vaguely retrospective blog post on an infrequently-updated blog.

This has been a pretty full year, what with world events, national and state politics, work events (and politics), and more. There are a lot of people who are in quite a hurry to leave 2017, and for arguably good reason, but there were plenty of good things that happened this year too. A lot of the macro things I’ve paid attention to this year were political: there were certainly advancements in human rights across several countries, even though others got more restrictive. Personally, I had a number of good things happen as well (although I’m loathe to expound upon them at any real length here). At an intermediate level, obviously some negative things happened across the country, but those appear to have energized a lot of people to try to fix recent problems, and hopefully improve even further.

So, to 2018, hopefully we can have more positive and less negative: let’s work toward improving things, but not totally trash this [nearly] past year as completely negative, either.

To those of you who celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas! To those of you who don’t, have a happy winter, and a good end to your 2017.

Take care of yourselves.
