Easiest way to carve a pumpkin?
With a spoon, of course. Well, when that’s the only utensil you have, anyway.
I mean, why not? It works. (Don’t worry, we used the spoon end most of the time.) And yes, pumpkin seeds need salt. Or brownie mix, as the case may be. Take your pick. (No, really. It’s good. Try it.)
Other notes for the future: Check to make sure the oven doesn’t have food on the bottom that will potentially burn, and when it does, turn on the fan first, then open the door. People will stop by to ask, “Is something on fire?” anyway.

Hmm… too bad you didn’t have some type of multi-purpose tool.
Did you bake the pumpkin seeds in the brownies or just coat them with brownie mix?

Yeah, the multi-purpose tool doesn’t quite have what’s necessary in the cutting-through-an-inch-and-a-half-of-cellulose department, though it was used to score the areas that were cut with the spoon. (Most of that is obscured by Kiwi’s hand, there.)
And since we made brownies at the same time, we just scraped the mixing bowl empty with the cooked seeds. No Salmonellosis ensued, don’t worry.

mmm, perhaps i’m mistaken, but i think this one may have been taken pre-scoring. Consider the angle and position of the spoon…

Mm. This was taken before the large round of scoring the pumpkin along the top, but you’ll remember that a test spot was tried before the spoon to test the feasibility of doing so, which is either covered by your hand or on the other side. (The pictures from after it was scored don’t make the fact that you’re using a spoon quite as clear, hence them not being included.)
